Magic Presents: Reality Echoes
Magic Presents: Reality Echoes is a special Pick-Two Draft event that centers gameplay around Echoed Pairs.
(An Echoed Pair is a set of two cards representing the same well-known character, creature, or planeswalker from two different realities.)
This draft variant introduces some of the consistency and build-around appeal of Commander to the Pick-Two Draft format, giving players a useful anchor for their deck strategy.
We will run a $20 Pick-Two draft on Friday, October 16, with a prize pack for each round you win plus a Reality Fracture set symbol pin for the top 3 players!
- Players begin each game with an emblem that states:
Reality Echoes: Before each game begins, a player may reveal two different cards they drafted that are part of an Echoed Pair. Those cards start the game in exile. The player may cast one of those cards during the game as though it were in their hand; when they do, they may shuffle the other into their library. Players begin each game with only a single Echoed Pair in exile.
Special drafting rule: Players draft ANY TWO cards during every pick (Echoed Pairs can be formed from any combination of picks)
- Drafting Procedure
- Players open a pack and take 2 cards from it, then pass the remainder.
- Pack-1: pass left; Pack-2: pass right; Pack-3: pass left.
- Players open a pack and take 2 cards from it, then pass the remainder.
- Deck Construction
- After drafting, players build a 40-card deck using their drafted cards plus basic lands.
- Match Structure
- Swiss pairings based on attendance
- Prizes for match wins, plus Top 3 promos
